ON FORCES THAT AFFECT US
Nature is the inspiration behind this video by choreographer and dancer Sarah Merler, who examines how extreme conditions, such as severe cold, a strong wind, frozen water and wet sand can influence and transform body movement.
The key question is: how can we cope with such challenges and in what way can we react? Experiences of this sort can be seen as metaphorical portrayals of everyday events. The various forces of nature become symbols of interior and exterior experience, occurrences that we have to face and resolve on a daily basis.

Sarah Merler
Sarah Merler, born in South Tyrol, studied contemporary dance and ballet at the Music and Arts University (MUK) of the City of Vienna. She has been working as a freelance dancer and choreographer mainly in Austria and Italy and has performed in many productions at the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen. In the season 23/24, she joined the dance company of the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck.
