VON ANFANG AN DER DREIKLANGFANG

Von Anfang an der Dreiklangfang delves into the concept of the triad and reflects on the potential benefits of the triangle as a geometrical shape.
Three-sided constellations are often considered problematic, both in real life and in literature. Suffice it to think of the Iliad, or Othello, or Wozzeck, or the great novels by Tolstoy or Dostoevsky.
In Marion Sparber’s performance, however, things are different. In her dual role as choreographer and dancer, she perceives the triad as a positive combination, one that does not act as a trap. With a serried musical accompaniment and dramatic movement, the piece becomes a study of the uneven number three with its potential for dialectic and exchange and the positive energy and emotions that triadic form can unleash.

Marion Sparber

Originally from South Tyrol, Marion Sparber trained in dance at Varium (Barcelona) and Iwanson School (Munich). Since 2014 she has been working as a choreographer. Thanks to a grant from South Tyrol, she has been able to develop her own work, which has been performed at several international theatres and festivals in Europe, South and North America, as well as in Asia. Many of Marion’s choreographies are a playful combination of highly physical dance, dance theatre, live music, video and photo projections interspersed with circus elements.
