MUSIC PERFORMANCE

When two strong personalities from the music scene like Rina Kaçinari and Maria Craffonara work together as artists the outcome is bound to be exciting. The wealth and variety of stimuli behind their creativity mirror their personal experience: both are bilingual, growing up in a cultural melting pot; both have accumulated plenty of experience performing within the classical sphere as well as in crossover projects as members of international bands and ensembles; both are equally at ease with the voice and playing their instruments; and both are composers, the authors and performers of their own works.

MARIA CRAFFONARA & RINA KAÇINARI

Born in Brunico, Maria Craffonara trained at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Hochschule in Vienna, where she studied singing and violin. As a member of the Viennese Donauwellenreiter group, she has taken part in various recordings and has played in America, Europe and Asia. In the last few years she has been developing her own solo projects, and is also artistic director of the Vokalensemble_2000.

Born into a family of musicians in Kosovo, Rina Kaçinari studied the cello at the Zagreb Academy and the Hochschule in Graz, and at the time also specialized in jazz at the A. Bruckner University in Linz. She was a member of the orchestra at the Maribor Opera House and in Vienna is still involved in numerous crossover projects.
