Ewald Kontscheider works as a teacher, author and dance theatre director in Alto Adige and the bordering areas in the sphere of German-Italian culture, with a particular focus on interdisciplinary activities. He studied German and comparative literature, contemporary history and musicology in Innsbruck. In 1992 he founded the dance theatre group Muspilli, working as an author and director on the creation of 20 different productions. He was creator and cofounder of the Tanzkooperative Südtirol and the Community Dance Academy. Moreover, in 2002 he began directing the Mitteleuropean Jazz Academy with Franco D’Andrea, also promoting involvement on the part of young people.
