Martina Marini studied contemporary dance, choreography, dance theatre and teaching in Bologna and Rome, at the same time attending courses in painting, photography, and stage and costume design at the Fine Arts Academy in Bologna. From 1996 to 2004 she worked with the Compagnia Chorea in Bologna under the direction of Nicoletta Sacco. In 2005 she moved back to Alto Adige to work as an actress and choreographer, cofounding the Tanzkooperative Südtirol in 2006. In 2007 she founded the Tanzschmiede/Fucinadanza dance theatre group, and in 2014 MartinaMariniDanceTheater. She teaches contemporary dance at the Arabesque Ballet School in Merano, and Creative Dance and Art in secondary school.
